Should Michaud be re-elected, or is it time for the GOP?

Incumbent Democratic Congressman Mike Michaud is facing his first real challenge since being elected in the 2nd District in 2002. Republican Jason Levesque, a political newcomer, has sounded familiar Republican themes – repeal the health care law, cut

spending, cut government regulations.

Can he be an effective advocate for the district?

Can he work with others in Congress? And what about Michaud – is he out of touch, having been an elected official for so long (including his tenure in the Maine Legislature)? Does his Blue Dog fiscal conservatism separate him from other Democrats?

And what about the 1st District – does Democrat Chellie Pingree deserve a second term, or will Republican Dean Scontras better serve the district?
