17-year-old male killed in Auburn crash

AUBURN, Maine — A 17-year-old from Leeds was killed Friday night when he was ejected from the vehicle he was driving on Stone Road.

The Lewiston Sun Journal reports that Madison Daigle lost control and flipped his 1995 Volkswagen Jetta. He and a 17-year-old male passenger were taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston where Daigle died. The passenger was later released, the paper reported.

“Preliminary investigation shows that Daigle was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash and excessive speed is a factor in the crash,” the Sun Journal quotes the Auburn Police Department as saying.
