PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Democrat Libby Mitchell, who’s trailing Republican Paul LePage in the polls, is getting more assistance from former President Bill Clinton.

Clinton will return to Maine the Sunday before the election, on Halloween, to rally supporters at a get-out-the-vote event at the Lewiston Armory. The rally is free but tickets are required.

The visit comes a month after Clinton attended a rally in South Portland. Clinton also endorsed Mitchell in March during her Democratic primary campaign.

With just over a week before the election, Mitchell has consistently polled several points behind LePage.
