What will the census numbers show about Maine?

In the coming months, U.S. census statistics will be released revealing the latest trends in Maine. Demographic information relating to age, gender, ethnicity, income and, of course, population will be published, analyzed and debated.

What will be the themes that emerge from these numbers? Will they show that Penobscot, Piscataquis, Somerset and Washington counties continued to lose population since the 2000 census? Which Maine counties will show the highest population growth? More locally, which towns will show population growth? How should the next governor respond to these trends?
