LEWISTON – Alice M. Lacombe, 92, of 4 Alec St., died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, at Russell Park Manor, where she had been a resident for the past five years. Born Aug. 23, 1918, in Lewiston, she was the daughter of William and Imelda Bazinet Dufresne. Educated in local schools, she was employed for many years as a weaver in the area textile industry, including Cowan and Bates mills. On Nov. 3, 1945, she married Alphee Lacombe, who passed away Oct. 28, 2003. A member of Sts. Peter and Paul Basilica, Prince of Peace Parish, she belonged to Ladies of St. Anne and Lewiston Senior Citizens, and enjoyed Beano and traveling, especially taking trips to Our Lady of the Cape in Canada. She especially loved her grandchildren and their accomplishments. Survivors include a son, Paul of Lewiston; a daughter, Claire and husband, David Lint, of Orono; three sisters, Delima Gagne of Auburn, and Emma Baillargeon and Gracia Dufresne, both of Lewiston; seven grandchildren, Kathleen, Michael and wife, Jennifer, and Timothy Lacombe, all of Lewiston, Marie and fiance, Luke Lafreniere, of Alton, N.H., and Andrew, Matthew and Kristopher Lint of Orono; a great-grandchild, Gwendolyn Lacombe; godchild, Anita Grenier; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by four brothers, Alfred, Rosario, Antonio and Augustin Dufresne; and a daughter-in-law, Claire Joyce Lacombe. The family thanks the staffs of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice and Russell Park Manor for the loving care they gave Alice during her final years. Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Friday at Albert & Burpee Funeral Home, 253 Pine St., Lewiston. Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Saturday in the lower church of Sts. Peter and Paul Basilica.
