Waldoboro police seek help finding missing man

The Waldoboro Police Department is seeking help from the public in locating a Waldoboro man who has been missing since Sept. 19.

Peter J. Collins, 47, was last seen when he left his mother’s home in Waldoboro early in the morning on Sept. 19, according to a press release from Police Chief Bill Labombarde. Collins told his mother he would return the next day, but did not. Collins has several medical problems and does not have his medication, Labombarde said in the press release.

Collins is a commercial fisherman and frequently travels between Waldoboro and New Bedford, Mass., where he works for various commercial fishing companies. He drives a forest-green 1999 GMC Denali SUV.

Collins has blue eyes and brown hair, and is between 5 feet 10 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall, according to police.

Anyone with information regarding the disappearance of Collins is asked to contact Detective Lance Mitchell or Chief Labombarde at the Waldoboro Police Department at 832-4500.

All information regarding the case will be considered confidential, the press release stated.
