EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — Glitz and talent don’t win games, as the Minnesota Vikings are being reminded.

For all their ability, the Vikings are having trouble channeling it into victories. Brett Favre has been at the forefront of the struggles, throwing seven interceptions and losing three fumbles through Minnesota’s first four games. He’s 30th in the NFL with a passer rating of 67.

Coach Brad Childress said Tuesday he believes Favre can fix the problem. The Vikings fell to 1-3 after their 29-20 loss to the New York Jets on Monday night. They will host the 1-3 Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

One major issue has been starting slow in the first half, due to penalties, turnovers and inaccurate passing. Childress says he wishes he could put his finger on what is going wrong.
