CUMBERLAND, Maine — Officials in Cumberland are investigating an all-terrain vehicle crash that killed a young man.

Police say 19-year-old Jesse Zacks was riding on a road at 5 p.m. Monday when he vaulted over the front of his machine, which then landed on top of him. The Portland Press Herald said Zacks died while being flown to Maine Medical Center on a LifeFlight helicopter.

Police Chief Joseph Charon says Zacks was wearing a helmet.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department is conducting an accident reconstruction.
