Today is the 73rd anniversary of the Brady Gang shootout in downtown Bangor. This photo was taken at approximately 8:45 a.m. Oct. 12, 1937, on Central Street following the shooting deaths of “public enemy number one” Alfred Brady, 25 (foreground) and getaway car driver Clarence Lee Shaffer Jr., 21 (background).
