ENFIELD, Maine — Airport Road will get a much-needed repaving by a local pavement contractor thanks to a recent vote by the Board of Selectmen, the board’s chairman says.

The board voted 2-0 to finish paving work begun by a previous vote and appropriation of about $27,000 after a town Public Works Department worker told board members that the job needed another $5,000 infusion to be completed, officials said.

“It will help the residents down that road there quite a bit,” Chairman Rick Smart said. “It will also help control erosion there.”

About a mile long, Airport Road connects Bickford Terrace to Dodlin Road, or Route 188.

Bickford Pavement Sealcoat Co. of 100 Airport Road will finish the job it started thanks to the cash infusion.
