BUCKSPORT, Maine — A local man was hospitalized Friday after a pickup truck he was working on slipped off a set of jacks and fell on him.

The man, whose name was withheld, was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor for treatment of chest and leg injuries, Assistant Fire Chief Michael Denning of the Bucksport Fire Department said.

Denning said the man’s injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

The accident occurred about 4 p.m. at the man’s home on Jacob Bucks Pond Road, Denning said. He said a family member who was present at the time called for help.
