ASHLAND and EAST WINDSOR, Conn. – Margaret R. (Brown) McNally, 87, went to be with the Lord Oct. 1, 2010, at a Granby, Conn., health care facility. She was born June 2, 1923, in Ashland, daughter of the late Chester and Sadie (Curtis) Brown. Margaret grew up in Ashland and attended Ashland schools. She married Charles G. McNally at a young age and began living at the McNally Farm, Masardis Road, Ashland, where she raised six children as well as being a caregiver for several aging relatives. She was very dedicated to the care, wellbeing, and happiness of all her family members right up until her homegoing. Margaret became a widow at age 50, with two young teen boys to raise alone. She took on this task and many other challenges with courage and confidence. She got her driver’s license and later graduated from Presque Isle High School. She was employed for many years at Taterstate Frozen Foods. Her concern for others was always very evident through the years. She made herself available to her grown children and grandchildren in their time of need and was able to have a special relationship with each one. For health reasons she moved to Connecticut in 2003 to be near family. She will be greatly missed by each and every one. She was a member of Ashland Advent Christian Church, Ashland. Since living in Connecticut, she attended Bethany Baptist Church, East Windsor, Conn. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles, in 1973; newborn son, Charles McNally Jr.; brother, Cecil Brown; and sister, Marian Matheny. She is survived by brother, Robert Brown and wife, Jane, of Stillwater, N.Y.; sister, Jane Dillon and husband, Ed, of Hopedale, Mass.; daughters, Patricia Van Wormer and husband, Van, of Loudon, N.H., and Charlotte and husband, Jim, of Sandusky, Ohio; sons, Kenneth and wife, Donna, of East Windsor, Conn., Daniel and wife, Melissa, of Bend, Ore., Stephen and wife, Sue, of Milford, N.H., and Richard and wife, Cindy, of Arundel; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
