Maine rallies past Vermont

ORONO — Lisa Bigman scored off a Maddie Hill assist 19:02 into the second half to lead the University of Maine to a 2-1 come-from-behind women’s soccer victory over the University of Vermont Thursday.

Maggie Malone scored an unassisted goal late in the first half to tie it for the 5-4 Black Bears. Iris Gunnarsdottir saved three of four shots.

Haley Marks scored with an assist from Alison Hemphill 11:51 into the first for 1-10 Vermont. Alyssa Kelly made eight saves off 10 shots.

RI College 6, Thomas 1

At Waterville, Alexis Smith had a hat trick in the second half to turn a 1-0 halftime lead by Rhode Island College into a rout over Thomas College.

Jessica Graham scored two goals and Ashley Choiniere scored one for the Anchormen.

Kim Migliara scored the only goal for the Terriers on a penalty kick and Kate Thibodeau of Woolwich made 17 saves on 28 shots.
