The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has created a series of chartlets of Cobscook Bay pointing out obstructions on the bottom and other possible dangers. The chartlets, small maps, will be available for fishermen to use prior to the start of the Oct. 1 urchin season. Reporter: Sharon Kiley Mack

A recent study by Penn State University for the American Lung Association shows the clear link between investing in anti-smoking or smoking cessation programs and reduced health care costs. How does this apply to Maine? Reporter: Eric Russell

It’s Day 2 of the Colin Koehler murder trial in Bangor. Among the witnesses expected to take the stand is Justin Ptaszynski, who has already been convicted of hindering apprehension in the case and witnessed the slaying. Koehler is accused of stabbing 19-year-old Holly Boutilier to death in Bangor in August 2009. Reporter: Judy Harrison

For much of television’s history, cheerleaders have been pretty background scenery. A new CW series, “Hellcats,” looks to change that. And at the center of “Hellcats” is a Maine native. Actress Heather Hemmens, a Waldo native, is enjoying her first starring role on TV. Hemmens, 22, has been trained in martial arts, but has never been a cheerleader. Reporter: Dale McGarrigle
