BREWER, Maine — Though details were not available Monday night, Brewer police said a Deer Isle woman was arrested on several charges in connection with a four-vehicle pileup on South Main Street near the Interstate 395 interchange.

Erica Christiansen, 31, of Deer Isle was taken to Penobscot County Jail on charges of operating under the influence, operating after suspension of her driver’s license and for violating the conditions of her release from a prior arrest, Detective Sgt. Jay Munson said.

Munson said the accident occurred at about 4:30 p.m., when Christiansen, who was heading toward Bucksport, struck a vehicle traveling ahead of her, causing a chain reaction that involved two other vehicles.

Munson said that besides alcohol, speed was a factor in the crash. He said that no one was injured and that the accident remains under investigation. The names, ages and residences of the other motorists involved were not immediately available.
