Detective Merl Reed of the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office and Trooper Elisha Fowlie of the Maine State Police harvested 19 6-foot-tall marijuana plants Tuesday morning in Frankfort.

The plants had been growing deep in the woods, far from any roads or houses, and were reported by someone who came across them, said Lt. Jason Trundy of the sheriff’s office.

“There’s no way to link them to anybody,” he said. Trundy said the marijuana would be destroyed.
