ORNEVILLE TOWNSHIP, Maine — Two Orneville brothers, along with two other local residents, were arrested Tuesday after federal search warrants were executed at the brothers’ homes on Lyford Road.

The searches were carried out by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department.

Arrested and charged with manufacturing marijuana were Bradley Stone, 46, and his brother Michael Stone, 49, according to documents filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court. Michael Stone also was charged with possession of firearms by an unlawful user of controlled substances. The brothers were released Tuesday from Penobscot County Jail after each provided $1,000 unsecured bail.

Also arrested was Lisa Gray, 38, who was charged with unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs. She was released Tuesday from Piscataquis County Jail on $300 unsecured bail.

Shane Stone, 25, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear. He is being held at Piscataquis County Jail. It was not immediately clear what his relation is to Michael and Bradley Stone.

Agents and deputies allegedly found two small quantities of marijuana, a plastic bag containing about a half pound of marijuana, a portion of a marijuana plant, and drug paraphernalia at Bradley Stone’s home, according to an affidavit filed in court.

At Michael Stone’s home, agents reportedly found and seized five firearms, including a five-shot .22-caliber revolver, shotguns and rifles. They also allegedly found three fully grown marijuana plants inside his home along with a digital scale and a well-traveled trail that led from both homes to a swampy area where a pile of potting soil and numerous marijuana plants were located.

Michael W. Wardrop, resident agent in charge for the U.S. Federal Drug Enforcement Administration, said Tuesday that the operation was “a great unified team effort.”
