SNAP gets $11M deal for Army uniforms

PRINCETON, Maine — The U.S. Army has awarded an $11 million contract to Source for Native American Products LLC, also known as SNAP, according to Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine.

The $11,069,970 contract is for 58,263 flame-resistant Army combat uniforms.

“This contract award is welcome news for the skilled workers at SNAP and will help support good jobs in Washington County,” Collins said. “I applaud their work to supply our troops with the very best equipment.”

SNAP was created in 2003 in partnership with the Passamaquoddy Indian Tribe and J&P Apparel. It is the contracting arm for Creative Apparel Associates.

The contracted work should be completed by April 2011.
