BANGOR, Maine — Husson University’s annual Homecoming Weekend will be held Oct. 1-3.
The inauguration of Robert Clark, the school’s sixth president, will begin at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, in the Newman Gymnasium.
Clark took over the reins of the 112-year-old institution in January from William Beardsley, who retired after 22 years as president. Friday’s activities will conclude with the annual Sports Hall of Fame dinner.
Events on Saturday after noon will include soccer, football and field hockey games. Events that day will conclude with the Alumni Hall of Fame dinner with the induction of five graduates.
The 2010 honorees are: Teresa W. Steele of Brewer, a longtime Husson faculty member and dean who recently retired; Earl Randy Grava of Yakima, Wash., a businessman who graduated in 1965; Carolyn M. Dorsey-Durepo of Fort Fairfield, who earned degrees in 1991, 1995 and 2001 and teaches at the University of Maine in Presque Isle; Raymond J. Cota Jr. of Orono, who graduated in 1968 and is vice president of Webber Oil Co.; and Cathleen C. Santos of Taunton, Mass., a nursing professional who earned her degree in 1990.
Saturday’s events will conclude with a comedy show at 9 p.m. featuring Big Lue Avent and Kathi Ghiloni in the Gracie Theatre. This show is free and open to the public.
