FORT KENT – Alvine (Voisine) Bernier, 94, died peacefully Sept. 12, 2010, surrounded by her family at Northern Maine Medical Center, Fort Kent. Alvine was born July 30, 1916, in Fort Kent, the daughter of Honor? and Sophie (Theriault) Voisine. In addition to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she was a member of Ladies of St. Anne, selected as “Mother of the Year” in 1992 and served for many years as a volunteer at Good Shepard Thrift Shop, Fort Kent. Alvine will be remembered as a very talented seamstress and very charitable, especially with her finger tip towels. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by three sons, Camille Jr. and his wife, Beatrice, of Frenchville, Ronald and his wife, Noella, of Wallagrass and Kevin and his companion, Dawn Dumond, of Fort Kent; three daughters, Rachel and her husband, Milton Pelletier, of Arundel, Rona and her husband, Clarence Daigle, of Bristol, Conn., and Janice of Fort Kent; one sister, Wellena Saucier of Plainville, Conn.; 20 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Camille Sr., in 1996; a son, Clinton, in 2005; three brothers, William, Felix and Edwin; and a sister, Leona. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and noon-1:30 p.m. Thursday at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Committal services will be after at the parish cemetery.
