2010 Eastport Pirate Festival winners announced

EASTPORT, Maine — Organizers of the Eastport Pirate Festival have released the names of winners of competitions that accompanied festivities here over the Labor Day weekend. Among the winners were:

Business awards

Best Dressed Window, Most Creative: Raye’s Mustard.

Best Dressed Window, Most Interesting: Port O’ Call.

Best Dressed Employees: The Pickled Herring and The Eastport Chowder House (tie).

Most Authentic Costume: Lindsay P., The Barber Shop.

Honorable Mention: Eastport Area Chamber of Commerce Pirate Festival Committee display.

Pirate Ball

King: Doug Murphy of Phippsburg.

Queen: Rose Stevens of Pleasant Point.

Pirate parade

Best Business Float: Husson-The Boat School “Pirates & Wenches.”

Best Individuals Float: Cook-Stanhope “The Empty Flask.”

Most Thrilling Entry: The Baileyville Ship “Leapin Lena.”

Best Child Costume: Maximus Morang.

Best Adult Costume: Daryne Rockhet “Rat Pie” & Leighton-Stevens Group (tie).

Best Dressed Family Group: Justason Crew “The Canadian Invasion.”

Farthest Traveled: Yarmouth Men’s Book Club, Yarmouth, and The Neptune Float, Augusta.
