CASTINE — Jess Stahl scored two second-half goals to lead the Maine Maritime Academy Mariners to a 3-0 women’s soccer victory over the UMaine-Machias Clippers Wednesday.
Emily Brogden also scored for the 1-1-1 Mariners. Lacey Jackson recorded two saves on three shots.
Stephanie Wunderley turned away five of 22 shots for the 2-3 Clippers.
St. Joseph’s 4, UM-Farmington 0
At Standish, Jessica Capozzi scored two goals in the first half as St. Joseph’s College shut out the University of Maine at Farmington.
Jessica Needham and Mikayla Call also scored for the 2-0 Monks. Jacqueline Lorenzen saved all four shots.
Crystal Johnson made four saves off 10 shots for the 0-1-1 Beavers.
UM-Presque Isle 5, Thomas 1
At Presque Isle, Carly Gillis and Desiree Smith scored two goals apiece in leading the University of Maine at Presque Isle to victory over Thomas College of Waterville Wednesday.
Lainey Herring scored the fifth goal for the 2-0 Owls. Lainey Herring, Brooke Long, Carolynn Tuck and Gillis each had an assist. Taylor Ussery saved four of five shots.
Julie Lawrence scored off a Elizabeth Goodall assist in the second half for 0-2 Thomas. Alyssa Vitalone turned away six of 11 shots.
UNE 2, Southern Maine 0
At Biddeford, Morgan Jensen scored in the first half and Kristin Meza scored in the second as the University of New England defeated the University of Southern Maine of Gorham Wednesday.
Cassie Zdrojeski assisted both goals for the 2-0 Nor’easters. Jess Woodworth saved two shots to earn the shutout.
Kat Rothe stopped seven of nine shots for 1-3 Southern Maine.
St. Joseph’s 1, Worcester State 0
At Worcester, Mass., St. Joseph’s College of Standish’s Paul Robins fired a shot, but Worcester State University’s David Gustafson deflected the ball into his own goal at 19:25 into the first half as the Monks held on to defeat the Lancers 1-0.
Nick Campasano saved five of nine shots for the 2-1 Monks.
Evan Wiga turned away eight of 18 shots for the 1-3 Lancers.
