UMaine-Fort Kent men, women defeat St. Thomas teams

    FORT KENT — Amine El Moumen recorded five goals and one assist in leading the University of Maine at Fort Kent to a 12-0 men’s soccer victory over St. Thomas Friday.

Andre Anderson scored two goals for the 3-0 Bengals. Jermaine West had a goal and an assist while Henley Comrie, Keith Williams II, Pierre-Luc Couturier and Shawn Parker also scored. Walford Stewart had three assists.

Bengals’ David Girouard saved the only shot he faced.

Marc Gagnon turned away 11 of 23 shots for St. Thomas.

    Women’s soccer

UM-Fort Kent 10, St. Thomas 0

At Fort Kent, Donique Ferriera had a hat trick as the University of Maine at Fort Kent blanked St. Thomas University.

Theresa Biggs had two goals for the 1-0 Bengals. Whitney Sinclair had a goal and two assists. Victoria Dubois-Iredale, Marie-Pier Daze and Jamie Pelletier also scored. Angela Norsworthy and Callie Rigsby both provided two assists. UMFK was also awarded a team goal.

UMFK’s Liz Morneault and Mindy Morneault shared time in goal and didn’t face a shot. St. Thomas’ Sarah Wardwell saved 11 of 21 shots.
