SANFORD, Maine — Police in Sanford have arrested a high school student accused of threatening students and staff on Facebook.

The 16-year-old is facing felony criminal terrorizing charges after a concerned parent reported the postings to school administrators on Friday.

Authorities say the student wrote that he was affiliated with the Insane Clown Posse and made a reference to the Columbine school shooting.

After a search of the teen’s home, police say they did not find any evidence of weapons or destructive devices and said they didn’t think the threat was credible.

The unidentified juvenile was committed to Long Creek Juvenile Detention Center.
