Jonesport teen killed in crash

HARRINGTON, Maine — A Jonesport teen was killed late Thursday night when his car crashed near the intersection of East Main Street and Route 1.

Tyler Turcotte, 17, was alone in his 2006 Chevy Monte Carlo at about 10:30 p.m. when it struck a utility pole and trees and rolled over, according to Washington County Sheriff Donnie Smith. Turcotte, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene by medical responders.

Smith said the cause of the crash remained under investigation.

Sgt. Tim Tabbutt was assisted at the scene by members of the Milbridge Police Department and the Addison, Columbia, Columbia Falls, Harrington and Cherryfield fire departments, as well as the Pleasant River and Milbridge ambulance service.
