BIDDEFORD, Maine — A judge has ruled that a Biddeford man charged with killing two men outside his home will be tried this fall in Penobscot County.

Defense lawyers contended it would have been difficult for Rory Holland to get a fair trial in York County because of intense press coverage.

Holland is charged in the shootings of 19-year-old Gage Greene and 21-year-old Derek Greene on June 30, 2009.

State police affidavits indicate that Gage Greene pushed Holland just before being shot. Witnesses say Derek Greene was running toward his brother when Holland shot him twice.

The Journal Tribune says Holland has a motion pending for separate trials on charges of murder and illegal possession of a gun by a convicted felon.
