What do you make of Fox News commentator Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally?

Was the rally, which drew almost 100,000 people, a de facto tea party rally without partisan politics? Was it an energizing warm-up for the fall campaign season? Was it an ego-fest for Beck and former Alaskan Gov. Sarah Palin?

Or was it a genuine attempt to return the nation to values which have waned in recent decades? What honor did the rally seek to restore?

Should the nation be able to hold common spiritual values, as Beck suggested? Which values?

Should Beck and Palin have avoided alluding to Martin Luther King and is “I Have a Dream” speech, even though the rally coincided with the anniversary of the speech? What do Beck and King have in common?
