PORTLAND, Maine — Maine Superior Court Judge Robert Crowley is stepping down after 28 years on the bench.
The Portland Press Herald says the 64-year-old Kennebunk resident is retiring on Tuesday.
Maine Supreme Court Chief Justice Leigh Saufley says Crowley knows how to be humorous and human in the courtroom, while he takes serious matters seriously.
Even though Crowley is retiring from the bench, he is not giving up the law.
After his retirement, Crowley will become an attorney with the Portland law firm of Kell, Remmel and Zimmerman where he will specialize in mediation, not unlike his career as a judge.
