Easton teams get Saturday sweep

    EASTON — Carla Halvorson netted three goals and tallied an assist to propel Easton by Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics 6-1 in schoolgirl soccer action Saturday.

Ariana Babineau posted a goal and an assist for the 4-2 Bears. Cassandra Buck and Mariah Cyr each added a goal while Danielle Dudley had two assists. Haley Ambrose stopped 13 of 24 shots.

Danielle Pelkey scored for the 1-3 Eagles on an assist from Amanda Allen. Autumn Beauchamp made 15 saves on 31 shots.

    Van Buren 1, Fort Fairfield 0

At Fort Fairfield, Parise Rossignol scored the game’s only goal 13:55 into the first half to lift Van Buren by Fort Fairfield.

Erika Searles picked up the assist on the winning goal for the 4-1 Crusaders. Ashlie Wilson blocked eight of 17 shots.

Katy Donovan made five saves on nine shots for the 3-3 Tigers.

Easton 6, Limestone 2

At Easton, Jared Hafford and Holden Turner netted two goals apiece to spark Easton by Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics.

Jonah Bacon and Reid Clark each scored a goal and grabbed an assist for the 1-4 Bears. Ian Sotomayor chipped in with an assist. Cody Thompkins made 14 saves on 19 shots.

Josh Forsman scored two goals for the 0-2 Eagles, including one on a penalty kick. Chris Bernier stopped 14 of 28 shots.
