Charleston Southern tips Bears

    CHARLESTON, S.C. — Marky Boyce scored with a header 8:34 into the second half to break a 1-1 tie and lift Charleston Southern over the University of Maine 2-1 in a women’s soccer game Friday.

Allison Lewis tied it late in the first half for 2-1 Charleston Southern. Michelle Dennis assisted on both goals. Amy Arroyo turned away four of five shots.

Carolyne Nellis scored off a Kelsey Wilson assist 27:35 into the game for the 1-2 Black Bears. Meagan Price-Leibenzede stopped five of seven shots.
