FORREST F. ALLEN JR.

ELLSWORTH – Forrest F. Allen Jr. died Aug. 26, 2010, at a Blue Hill hospital. He was born May 7, 1929, in Brooklin, the son of Forrest F. and Emma M. (Horton) Allen Sr. Forrest served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as a carpenter for E. L. Shea, R. L. White and Robert Ray. He and Allen Patten also worked together for many years. He enjoyed snowmobiling and visiting with his buddies at the Union River dock. He is survived by his wife, Leah (Salisbury) Allen of Ellsworth; brother, Lawrence Allen and wife, Eva, of Brooklin; sisters, Ethel Gott of Brooklin and Harriet Bisset and husband, Walter Jr., of Ellsworth; many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth. Contributions in Forrest’s memory may be made to Ellsworth High School Alumni Association, P.O.
