State police tactical team aids ‘high risk’ search in Dexter

DEXTER, Maine — Local police enlisted the aid of the Maine State Police Tactical Team during the execution of a search warrant Monday night on Free Street.

Sgt. Kevin Wintle of the Dexter Police Department said Tuesday his department had two warrants for the arrest of a person believed to be living at the Free Street residence.

The tactical team was requested based on the “high risk” posed by the person and because of the lateness of the search, Wintle said. The person who was being sought was not home when the search was conducted, he said.
