Fire damages Waldoboro kelp business

The Associated Press

WALDOBORO, Maine — Police say a kelp business here caught fire Wednesday, prompting a response from several towns.

WGME-TV reports the fire was reported just after 7 p.m. Wednesday at the North American Kelp plan off of Route 32.

The extent of damage was not clear late Wednesday night.

The company’s website says it’s the largest producer of kelp in America for Horticulture and Agriculture.
