SOUTHWEST HARBOR – Priscilla M. Trafton, 93, died Aug. 17, 2010, at a Mount Desert Island hospital. She was born May 20, 1917, in Southwest Harbor, daughter of Austin M. and Lena (Norwood) Mitchell. Priscilla was a cook for 51 years at Pemetic Elementary School, Southwest Harbor, where she was also the supervisor for a number of those years. She also did the cooking at a number of dinner parties at summer cottages in Southwest Harbor. She was a 50-year member and past worthy matron of the Eastern Star, and also a member of St. John Episcopal Church, both of Southwest Harbor. Priscilla is survived by her son, Paul J. Trafton and wife, Elizabeth, of Wayland, Mass.; two grandchildren, Anne Trafton of Boston, and John Trafton and wife, Eve, of Salem, Mass.; and sister-in-law, Mary Mitchell of Mount Desert. She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Joseph Trafton. Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at St. John Episcopal Church, Main Street, Southwest Harbor.
