SEAL HARBOR – Mary Z. Grindle, 75, died Aug. 17, 2010, at a Mount Desert Island health care facility. She was born Aug. 15, 1935, in Wylow, Poland, the daughter of Stanley and Rosalia (Slomba) Zmuda. She worked for Jackson Laboratory for 20 years and was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Northeast Harbor. Mary is survived by two sons, Thomas B. Grindle and his wife, Nykki, of Seal Harbor, and Charles E. Grindle and his wife, Claire, of Southwest Harbor; a daughter, Rosemarie G. McQuinn of Seal Harbor; two grandchildren, Jennifer R. Garraway and her husband, Adam, and Andrew J. McQuinn; sister-in-law, Barbara Jean Hanson; and sister-in-law, Diane Feather and her husband, Thomas. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Arthur W. Grindle; and her brother, Edward Zmuda. Friends are invited to call 3:30-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, at Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert. A Mass of Christen burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Northeast Harbor, with Father John O’Hara, celebrant.
