WINTHROP, Maine — Police in Winthrop, Maine, say they have accounted for the 34 guns reported stolen from a hardware store over the weekend.

Police say someone had pulled back the metal roof at Audette’s Hardware and took the guns from the hunting department.

WCSH-TV reports they have a suspect who has been charged with burglary and theft in an unrelated case and is helping the department solve other recent crimes.

The hardware store theft has been turned over to the U.S. Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
