NH lawmaker involved in fatal accident in Maine

ALFRED, Maine — A New Hampshire lawmaker has been involved in a fatal accident with a motorcyclist in Maine.

Maine state police said Republican state Rep. Laurie Boyce of Alton, N.H., turned left onto Route 111 in Alfred, Maine, into the path of the motorcycle, killing 45-year-old Shane McCarthy of Lee, N.H. McCarthy’s wife, identified as 41-year-old Lezlie Perham, was seriously injured.

The Friday afternoon accident remains under investigation.
