CARIBOU, Maine — A local man has been arrested and charged in connection with a burglary at a Main Street restaurant.

Police said Tuesday that Wayne Colley, 50, of Caribou was arrested Monday evening and charged with burglary and theft in the Aug. 13 burglary at Frederick’s South Side Restaurant.

Police said Colley forced his way into the building, damaging two doors in the process, then forced open the cash register and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. He also allegedly damaged the cash register during the burglary.

An investigation led to Colley’s arrest Monday evening by Officer Douglas Bell.

Colley was released Monday evening on $2,500 cash bail.
