CLIFTON, Maine — A woman from Massachusetts died in a collision Saturday morning on Route 9 when her sedan crossed into the path of a motor home, according to Trooper Kyle Willette of the Maine State Police.

Diane Saulnier, 53, of Leominster, Mass., was driving west in a 2001 Chevy Prizm when she crossed into the eastbound travel lane, Willette said. It is unknown why Saulnier entered the wrong lane.

Kenneth Quirion, 60, and Deborah Quirion, 55, of Oakland were in the 1994 Ford motor home. They were treated at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor for minor injuries and released.

The accident, which occurred at 11:10 a.m., limited traffic to one lane on Route 9 for several hours. Traffic was rerouted along Route 180.

In addition to the state police, emergency crews responded from Eddington, Brewer and Hancock County. The accident remains under investigation.
