Bangor man injured in motorcycle-car crash

BANGOR, Maine — A Bangor man was in stable condition at a Bangor hospital Friday night after he was injured in an accident at the intersection of Essex and State streets.

Timothy Campbell, 49, whose injuries included a possible broken arm, was still being evaluated late Friday night, an Eastern Maine Medical Center nursing supervisor said.

The accident happened at 6:15 p.m. at the intersection of Essex and State streets, Bangor police Lt. Tom Reagan said, citing an accident report.

Reagan said Campbell was heading north on State Street on his 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when he struck a 2009 Honda sedan driven by Christopher Tarr, 23, of Bangor.

Tarr, who was traveling on Essex Street, was crossing State Street at the time, Reagan said. He said Tarr was not injured.
