Delaware all-stars tally 5 in seventh, beat Calais

    WEST DEPTFORD, N.J. — Naamans Little League of Wilmington, Del. scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning to blow open a close game and defeat Calais in the opening game of the Senior Little League Baseball Eastern Regional.

Naamans was sparked by Mike Alexio who paced an 11-hit attack with hit a double and two singles, along with two RBIs and two runs scored. Connor McHugh doubled and singled while Mike Annone and Tim Dewey added two singles apiece.

Naamans scored three runs in the top of the first inning, but Calais answered with a two-run home run by Toby Woods. Both teams scored single runs in the second inning before Naamans scored two more in the third. Ryan Lincoln smacked a solo home run for Calais making it a two-run game going into the fourth.

Calais was led by Woods with the home run and a double. Lincoln accounted for the other two hits with a homer and a single.
