EAST MILLINOCKET – Ronald E. Austin, 68, lost his life Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, after battling brain cancer. He was born April 12, 1942, in Wytopitlock, the son of Earl S. and Gladys M. (Dishon) Austin. He was a retiree of Great Northern Paper Co. Ronald loved hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, playing cards and going to camp. Ronald was predeceased by his parents, Earl and Gladys Austin; his daughter, Carrie M. Austin; maternal grandparents, Norma and Edward Dishon; and his father-in-law, Alvin Irish. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Valice (Irish) Austin of East Millinocket; and sons, Marvin Austin and his wife, Diane, of Bangor, Adam Austin of New Hampshire, Mike Austin and his wife, Betty Jo, of Millinocket and Mark Austin and his wife, Vicki, of Medway. He also leaves his grandchildren, Anthony Austin, Kelly Jo Austin, Kristy Austin and her companion, Brandon, Danielle Austin and her companion, Trevor, Adam Austin II, Alexia Austin, Angela Austin, Michelle Austin, Jessica Austin and Nathan Austin; an unborn great-granddaughter, Sierra; his mother-in-law, Harriet Irish of Lincoln; brothers, Jake Austin and his wife, Dola, Desmond Austin and his wife, Tammy, and Conrad Austin and his wife, Doris; a sister, Fayette Austin; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at East Millinocket Cemetery.
