LINCOLN, Maine — A Lee Road garage, large enough to hold a pulp truck, was destroyed Saturday afternoon by fire.

No one was in the metal and wood structure when the fire was reported by a passer-by shortly after 3 p.m., Deputy Fire Chief Hervey Clay said Saturday night.

The garage, owned by Jeremy Dill of Lincoln, was in flames when firefighters arrived, he said.

“There were flames coming out around the roof,” the deputy chief said. “It was just a mess of fire there.”

A house about 20 feet from the garage was not damaged, according to Clay.

Clay said the cause of the fire had not been determined but the building was insured.
