Moore, Johnson homers lift Bangor East

    HAMPDEN, Maine – Ryan Moore and Dane Johnson each blasted a home run and the Bangor East 11-12 All-Stars hung on to beat Camden-Rockport 9-8 Thursday to force a winner-take-all championship game today.

Ryan Moore also singled for Bangor East. Nick Moore, Liam Reading and Ryan Brookings chipped in with a double apiece.

Andrew Hall paced Camden-Rockport with a home run and a single. Jake Chamberlain tripled and singled while Kienan Brown and Teddy Laurita each added a double and a single.

At Hermon, Connor Kelly allowed only four hits and struck out 11 to help Scarborough claim the state title Wednesday.

Scarborough advanced to the East Regional tourney where it will play the Connecticut champ at 1 p.m. Saturday in Cranston, R.I.

Jared Brooks singled and doubled for the winners and Owen Garrard aided his own cause with two singles and two RBIs.

Matt MacLean had a two-run single for York.
