HAMPDEN — Nick Moore recorded a home run and two singles to propel Bangor East by Cumberland-North Yarmouth 9-3 in an elimination game of the state Little League all-star baseball tourney for ages 11-12 Wednesday.
Bangor East advanced to today’s championship round at 5:30 p.m. against unbeaten Camden-Rockport. If Bangor East wins, a second game would be played for the title on Friday.
Ben Crichton hit a home run and a single for Bangor East. Jake Ireland added a home run while Liam Reading tallied three singles.
Caleb Normandeau and Zak Novak paced Cumberland-North Yarmouth with a home run apiece. Reid Howland chipped in with a double and a single.

At Hermon, Connor Garrard allowed only four hits and struck out 11 to help Scarborough claim the state title.
Scarborough advanced to the East Regional tourney where it will play the Connecticut champ at 1 p.m. Saturday in Cranston, R.I.
Jared Brooks singled and doubled for the winners and Garrard aided his own cause with two singles and two RBIs.
Matt MacLean had a two-run single for York.

Calais 6, Waldo County 5
At Bar Harbor, Adam Geel collected four singles and drove in two runs as Calais held off Waldo County for the State Senior League championship.
Toby Woods doubled, singled and scored two runs, including the winning run in the fourth inning, for Calais. Billy Nicholas hit a two-run single that highlighted a four-run first inning. Dylan Carter chipped in with a double.
Matthew Palmer and Zach Beaudry each hit two singles and scored a run for Waldo County. Dillan Moody added an RBI single.
