PORTLAND, Maine — An aide to Sen. Olympia Snowe has been named one of the “50 Most Beautiful People” on Capitol Hill by newspaper that covers Congress.

The Hill says Jessa Merrill is a Republican and single. “Growing up in the small town of Kennebunkport, Maine, well-known as the summer home to former President George H.W. Bush,” writes The Hill, “Merrill spent her summers working at a tourist shop. She not only got used to the black motorcades typical of Washington, but she also developed a knack for picking out the law enforcement agents protecting the dignitaries, even when the officers were off-duty.”

Merrill, who’s 23, is a Kennebunkport native. She joined Snowe’s staff last October and currently serves as a legislative correspondent.

Merrill says she doesn’t have any beauty tips. She says it wasn’t until college that her roommates at the University of Vermont taught her how to apply makeup. printed on April 30, 2017
