Could the former Brunswick Naval Air Base become an economic driver?

An aircraft manufacturer has announced it plans to open a manufacturing facility in the

former base. Do the base and its proximity to a large and well-educated work force hold

the potential to become an economic force in this part of Southern Maine? If so, are there

any lessons that Bangor International Airport could learn? What other unused or

under-used federal facilities in Maine hold potential to become industrial or commercial

business parks? What sorts of businesses might be attracted to such locations? What

amenities would they seek?
