Bangor Junior all-stars record two victories

    ELLSWORTH — The Bangor Junior League all-stars picked up two wins in the state baseball tourney over the weekend with a 6-5 victory over South Portland on Saturday and a 7-3 win over Coastal on Sunday.

In  Saturday’s game, Justin Ireland hit an RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning to drive in Cody Collins for the game-winning run as Bangor topped South Portland.

Collins hit an RBI single and a double for Bangor. Nick Ashey hit a two-run double in the ninth while Justin Courtney added an RBI double. Hunter Boyce and Brendan Moore hit two singles apiece.

Zac Marles singled twice to pace South Portland. Joe DiBiase hit a two-run double while Robert Graff had an RBI triple.

In Sunday’s game, Bangor tallied two runs in the second, fourth and fifth innings en route to the win over Coastal Sunday.

Justin Ireland posted an RBI double for Bangor. Brendan Moore and Andrew Hillier each hit an RBI single while Justin Courtney chipped in with an RBI.

Gabe Allen doubled and singled for Coastal while Connor Morey added two singles.

At Hermon, Dalton Wing walked and later scored the winning run on a throwing error in the fifth inning as Lewiston defeated Hermon Saturday.

Wing scored two runs for Lewiston while Sean O’Donnell and Joe Bisson each added a run.

Ryan Hoogterp had two singles, a double and two RBIs to pace Hermon. Zach Nash posted two singles.

At Hermon, Nick Larochelle was hit by a pitch and then scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning on a wild pitch to lift Belfast past Coastal Saturday.

Zach Dyer hit a two-run home run and an RBI single to lead Belfast. Sam Sturgis chipped in with three singles.

Trent Williamson tallied a double, a single and three RBIs for Coastal. Bryce Harmon doubled and singled.

At Hermon, Chris Neilson hit a two-run single to highlight a three-run first inning as York shut out Scarborough Saturday.

James Peter and Peyton Small combined on the six-hit shutout for York. Tommy Carr and Jake McKenna each added two singles.

Jared Brooks singled twice to pace Scarborough.

At Hermon, Dalton Wing hit two doubles, a single and drove in four runs to spark Lewiston by Belfast Sunday.

Mitchell Frisbie chipped in with an RBI triple for Lewiston.

Dean Grass paced Belfast with two singles and two RBIs.

At Hampden, Ryan Moore doubled three times to power the offense and Ryan Brookings struck out 10 batters in 4ª innings to earn the win in Saturday’s State Little League Tournament action.

Nick Moore singled twice for Bangor East.

Parker Williams and Jeremy Jacques each hit a home run for South Berwick. Ryan O’Neil and Jake Lebel each had doubles.

At Hampden, Teddy Laurita hit a home run to help lead the Camden-Rockport All-Stars to a win Saturday

Ryan Pierce singled twice and Kyle Cranks double for Camden-Rockport.

Hank Vinal doubled and singled to pace Ellsworth. Nick Bagley singled twice.

At Hampden, Jake Lebel hit two home runs and two singles to propel South Berwick by Dirigo Saturday.

Patrick Fallon pitched 4ª innings allowing just two hits with 11 strikeouts for South Berwick. Ryan O’Neil posted two doubles and a single.

Jake Rideout hit a double and a single for Dirigo.

Charles Libby tallied two singles for Ellsworth while Alex Braley hit a home run.

At Bar Harbor, Adam Higgins hit a two-run single as part of a five-run second inning as Waldo County defeated Portland Saturday.

Nick Rodgerson posted a double, a single and two runs scored for Waldo. Patrick Later hit two singles with two RBIs while Matthew Palmer added two singles and two runs scored.

Evan Stewart paced Portland with a two-run double and a single. Brian Gross doubled and singled while Brad Perry added an RBI double.

Nick Rodgerson hit a two-run triple and a single for Waldo. Adam Higgins tallied two singles and an RBI while Dylan Moody added a two-run single. Patrick Later doubled and scored.

Billy Nicholas hit an RBI double for Calais.
