BANGOR — Bangor advanced to the championship round of the District 3 Senior League all-star baseball tourney Friday with a 6-3 victory over Brewer at Mansfield Stadium.
Brewer will play in an 11 a.m. Sunday elimination game against Hermon, which eliminated Orono-Veazie on Friday 15-6.
The winner of the Brewer-Hermon game will play unbeaten Bangor for the title at 2 p.m. Sunday. A Brewer victory would force a second game on Monday at 7 p.m. to decide the champ. The winner of the tourney advances to the Senior League World Series.
In Friday’s first game, Gregg Hamlin and Matt Blackmer each hit three singles and drove in two runs to help Hermon eliminate Orono-Veazie.
Will Perkins doubled and singled for Hermon. Kevin Frederick hit a double and knocked in two runs. Brady Knowles singled twice.
Blackmer earned the complete-game win.
Sean O’Donnell led Orono-Veazie with a double, two singles and an RBI. Tyler Eddy tripled and doubled and Josh Storgaard hit a double.
In the nightcap, Nic Cota’s RBI single in the fourth put Bangor ahead for good and into the championship round.
Josiah Hartley led Bangor with a triple and a single, Anthony Capuano added two singles and an RBI, Luke Hetterman had a double and Dylan Morris added a single and two RBIs.
Bryan Rouleau picked up the win in relief, going three innings. Greg Duff got the save.
Matt Morrow rapped three singles and two RBIs, and Yuhi Sasaki and Mark Moellentin added two singles each.

At Hermon, Jarred Greenleaf’s RBI groundout in the bottom of the fifth inning plated Owen Garrard with the winning run for the District 6 champs.
Belfast took a 5-4 lead with a run in the top of the fifth, but Scarborough’s Glade Fredenberg walked in the bottom of the inning and came around to score the tying run before Garrard singled and then advanced to third on two wild pitches.
Greenleaf, Fredenburg, Jared Brooks and Morgan Pratt also singled for Scarborough.
Garrett Hamlin paced District 2 Belfast with a double, single and RBI, while Zack Dyer singled twice with an RBI and Stan Sturgis tripled.

At Hermon, Jake McKenna’s RBI single highlighted a tie-breaking three-run rally in the bottom of the fifth inning that led District 4 champion York to victory.
Keenan Marseille had sparked a three-run rally by District 3 Hermon in the top of the fifth with a two-run single that produced a 7-7 tie.
Zach Nash added a double, single and RBI for Hermon.
Chris Neilson had two singles and two RBIs for York, while teammate Alex Nickerson also singled twice.
