Power restored to 1,200 in Mount Hope area

BANGOR — More than 1,200 Bangor Hydro-Electric Co. customers lost power in the overnight hours after a problem was reported at a local substation.

Residents of Mount Hope Avenue and several of Bangor’s “tree” streets were affected, according to Bangor Hydro spokeswoman Susan Faloon. Crews were called to make repairs and quickly restored power to the neighborhood.

“They were [without power] I think about an hour,” Faloon said Friday.

The problem occurred at the Waterworks substation, which serves Mount Hope Avenue as well as Pine, Palm, Elm, Maple and Fruit streets and surrounding side streets.
